It is no longer news that the current series of N200, N500 and N1,000 notes would seize to be legal tender on the deadline of January 31, 2023. CBN has stated that there will be no extension for the use of the old notes beyond January 31, advising Nigerians to ensure they deposited all the old N200, N500 and N1,000 banknotes in their possession before the deadline of January 31, 2023.
It is regrettable that most people in Benue have either neglected or refused to turn in their old naira notes up till now despite the risk of financial loss.
The public have the right to report any Bank hoarding the new Naira note or dispensing the old Naira note in their ATM across Benue and it’s environs.
